We’re looking for an AI-native freelance engineer to help architect and build complex ERP and business operations systems on the Stardeck platform.
You’ll use tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor to accelerate implementation—but you must fundamentally understand software engineering and system design. We need someone who can direct AI effectively, make sound architectural decisions, and take ownership of the resulting system.
Stardeck is building the future of software development for business owners. Instead of forcing companies to adapt to rigid, outdated software, we use AI to build systems around how each business actually operates.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business operations into clear system architecture
- Design modules, relational data models, workflows, permissions, and audit trails
- Direct AI coding agents to implement production-ready full-stack systems
- Design reliable integrations with APIs, webhooks, devices, and external platforms
- Model operational edge cases, reversals, approvals, and exception workflows
- Identify architectural risks, bottlenecks, and data-integrity concerns
- Build and debug critical functionality when deeper engineering work is required
- Collaborate with our team through discovery, implementation, UAT, deployment, and handoff
- Take ownership of technical outcomes—not merely the code generated by AI
What We’re Looking For
- Strong software engineering and system-design fundamentals
- Ability to architect complex, interconnected business systems
- Expert use of Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools
- Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, RBAC, workflows, and integrations
- Ability to turn ambiguous operational requirements into maintainable software
- Understanding of data integrity, concurrency, idempotency, and failure recovery
- Strong deadline discipline and comfort delivering against defined milestones
- Practical judgment about when to use AI and when deeper human engineering is required
- Ability to maintain architectural quality without manually reviewing every generated line
Preferred Technical Experience
- TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and React
- PostgreSQL or another relational database
- REST APIs, webhooks, background jobs, and event-driven workflows
- Multi-tenant, multi-branch, or multi-entity systems
- Authentication, RBAC, approval matrices, and audit logging
- Data migration, reconciliation, imports, and production cutovers
- Production deployment, monitoring, debugging, and incident response
Preferred Business-System Experience
Experience designing or building one or more of the following is highly valued:
- ERP and business-management systems
- Factory automation and manufacturing operations
- Production planning and work-order management
- Bills of materials, materials planning, and procurement
- Warehouse and inventory management
- Barcode, scanner, printer, kiosk, or IoT workflows
- Logistics, parcel tracking, dispatch, routing, and fleet management
- Order management and fulfillment
- Accounting, invoicing, payments, and reconciliation
- HR, payroll, attendance, and approval workflows
- CRM, sales operations, and customer portals
Bonus Experience
- Integrating factory equipment, sensors, edge devices, or industrial systems
- Connecting ERP systems with accounting, e-commerce, payment, or logistics platforms
- Designing serialized inventory and lot/batch traceability
- Building multi-stage approval and exception-management workflows
- Implementing offline-capable or field-worker applications
- Working directly with Thai SMEs, factories, distributors, or logistics businesses
Exceptional new graduates and young engineers are welcome to apply if they can demonstrate serious systems thinking and technical ability. We value evidence of what you can build more than job titles or years of experience.
You’ll Love Working With Us If You…
- Love understanding how complex businesses actually operate
- Enjoy turning factory floors, spreadsheets, LINE chats, and manual processes into reliable systems
- Think carefully about permissions, edge cases, failure modes, and operational reality
- Want your work to save people time and make entire organizations more efficient
- Believe AI will fundamentally change how production software is designed and built
- Hate how shit most SME and ERP software in Thailand is—and want to build something dramatically better
- Care more about solving the right problem than blindly following a specification
- Want to work with and learn directly from Stardeck’s ex-Silicon Valley cofounders
How to Apply
Send us examples of the Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar prompts you’re proudest of. For each example, briefly explain:
- What system you were building
- Why the problem was technically or operationally difficult
- How you approached the architecture and data model
- What edge cases or failure modes you considered
- What your prompts produced
- What you personally validated, corrected, or improved
You may also include architecture diagrams, repositories, product demonstrations, university projects, or systems you have previously delivered.
Engagement: Freelance and project-based, with scope and compensation agreed according to project complexity. Strong performers may receive ongoing projects or an opportunity to join Stardeck permanently.
