Partner Organizations
How an agency or builder runs Stardeck organizations for its clients: who gets access, who pays, and the limits
A partner organization is an agency or builder that runs Stardeck organizations for its clients. The partner's team builds and maintains each client's apps from their own logins, and each client keeps its own organization, members, data and plan.
- To manage clients as a partner, see Managing Client Organizations.
- If a partner runs your organization, see Working with a Partner.
- For the partner program (paths, commission, levels, billing), see Partner Program.
Becoming a partner
Stardeck staff turn an organization into a partner. There is no self-serve switch. Contact support@stardeck.ai or apply through the partners page.
Once your organization is a partner, its role editor gains one permission, Manage Client
Organizations (partner:manage-clients), and Partner Dashboard appears in the sidebar for
people who hold it. Your own organization also gets the Growth plan at no charge for demos and
internal work, unless it already pays for a plan or is on Growth or above.

- Every partner team member whose role holds Manage Client Organizations is an Admin member of every client organization. The Admin role holds it automatically. Give it to other roles under Settings → Roles & Permissions.
- Stardeck keeps this in step for you. When someone joins or leaves the partner, or a role gains or loses the permission, their client access changes within moments. A check every hour catches anything missed.
- In the client organization, these members carry a Partner badge. The client can't change or remove them; the partner manages them.
- People the client added itself are never touched, even if they also work for the partner.
Who pays
A client organization you create starts on the free plan, so your team can build before anyone pays. Its first plan, whichever it is, comes with a 30-day free trial.
By default the client pays Stardeck with its own card. Your team can still change the client's plan, add-ons and credits from inside its organization; the client's admins manage its card and billing details.
To pay for a client yourself, open Billing on the client's row and set Paid by to Partner pays. Stardeck then invoices your organization for the client's plans, add-ons and credits, and the client's admins see their plan and usage without Stardeck prices, so you can bill them at your own price. A client in its free trial with no add-ons moves now and keeps the days it has left. A client with a paid plan keeps paying with its own card until its current period ends. Client pays moves the bill back the same way.
Limits
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| One partner per client | One team is responsible for each client. |
| A client can't become a partner | Access never chains from one partner through another. |
| Moving a client to another partner | Done by Stardeck staff. Contact support. |
| A partner that stops being a partner | Its team loses access to every client. The clients themselves are untouched. |
If an organization stops being a partner and later becomes one again, its clients come back as they were.
A managed account on your partner team is never added to clients, because managed accounts can't join another organization. Give client work to people with their own logins.
