Managing Client Organizations

Create client organizations, give your partner team access, work across clients, and release a client

This page is for partner organizations. Everything here happens in your partner organization on the Partner Dashboard in the sidebar, which only people with Manage Client Organizations can see.

Give your team access

  1. In your partner organization, open Settings → Roles & Permissions.
  2. Give Manage Client Organizations to each role that should work on clients. Admin already has it.

Everyone holding the permission becomes an Admin of every client within moments. Taking it away, or removing the person from your organization, takes away their access to every client.

You can't pick which clients a person reaches: it is all of them or none.

Create a client organization

1

Start

Click New Client.
2

Name it

Enter the client's Name and a Slug (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens). The slug must be unused across Stardeck.

3

Create

The organization is created on the free plan, and your team joins it as Admins.

Then open the client from the organization switcher and build its apps as you would in your own organization.

Invite the client's people

Invite the client's team from inside the client organization, under Settings → Team Members. See Inviting People.

Make at least one of the client's own people an Admin. They are the ones who choose and pay for the plan, and you can't release the client until it has one.

Add an organization you already run

If you already run an organization for a client, add it instead of creating a new one.

  1. Click Add Existing.
  2. Pick the organization. The list shows organizations where you are an Admin in your own right that aren't a partner or another partner's client.

Your team joins it as Admins. Its members, apps and plan stay as they are.

An organization that already belongs to another partner can't be added. Contact Stardeck to move it.

Work across clients

Your clients appear in the organization switcher under Client organizations, with your partner's name next to each. A badge on the current organization shows when you are in a client.

Inside a client you are an Admin. Partner team members can't leave a client organization themselves; their access follows your partner organization.

Billing in a client organization

Under Settings → Usage & Billing in a client organization, your team can:

  • see the plan and usage
  • set the billing email

Your team can't subscribe, buy credits, cancel, or change payment details. Those belong to the client's own admins, who pay Stardeck directly.

If a client's plan lapses, your team sees a notice in place of plan selection. Ask one of the client's admins to sign in and choose a plan.

Release a client

Releasing a client ends your team's access to it.

  1. On the client's row, open the ⋯ menu and click Release client.
  2. Confirm.
  • Your team's Admin memberships are removed. The client's own members, apps and plan stay as they are.
  • You can't release a client that has no Admin of its own. Invite one first.
  • If the release doesn't finish, the row stays with Retry release. Click it to finish removing access.
  • Only Stardeck can add a released client back unless you run it yourself, in which case you can add it again.

To let your AI tools and coding agents work on a client, connect them to that client's organization. See Agents on Client Organizations.
