Get told when an agent needs your input, proposes a plan, or finishes a run

Browser notifications tell you when an agent needs you back. They cover Starcat, Starcat Developer, and conversation forks.

Needs your inputThe agent asked a question or is waiting for you to approve an action.
Proposed a planThe agent wants sign-off on a plan.
Finished a runThe agent completed its work or stopped on an error.

Turning them on

Notifications are off by default.

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Settings, then Preferences under Personal.
  2. Switch on Browser notifications and allow the browser's permission prompt.
  3. Repeat in each browser you use. Permission is per browser, not per account.

If the toggle is on but nothing arrives, the browser is blocking stardeck.ai. The preferences page says so; re-allow it in your browser's site settings.

When you're notified

  • Not for the chat you're currently viewing in a focused tab.
  • Not for runs you stopped.
  • Alerts for the same conversation replace each other.
  • Only the person who sent the message that started the run is notified.
  • Delivered even when no Stardeck tab is open.
Note:

On iPhone and iPad, notifications only work after you add Stardeck to your home screen. See Add to Home Screen.

Activity

Every notification is recorded in your Activity feed, whether or not browser notifications are on. Open it from Settings → Activity under Personal, or the bell at the bottom of the sidebar (shows an unread count).

  • Click an item to open that conversation.
  • Mark everything as read at once.
  • Read items are kept for 90 days. Unread items stay until read.
